Residential: Burnhill Green
Askew Nelson were commissioned in 2008 to prepare the landscape design for this showcase residential development in Staffordshire on behalf of the Crown Estate. The master plan, drawn up with architects Watson Bertram and Fell, draws on the character of the village and includes the reinstatement of the village green, creation of individual gardens, drives and parking areas.
The scheme achieves Level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes and places an emphasis on sustainability and socially responsible design and construction. Key design features include porous paving, stormwater attenuation, rainwater harvesting, bat boxes, native hedgerows, drought tolerant planting and composting facilities.
